Here are a few New Year’s Resolutions for my participation in Naturally, My Dear. It’s my first time, so naturally, I’m taking it slow.
Take a yoga and pilates class.
Right now I’m a cross-training meathead. I like to lift weights, run stairs, climb hills, explore mountains, run through streams, and snowboard. This year, Allison challenged me to step out of my box and try a yoga or pilates class. I’m a member at a gym that offers both, so I agreed to give them a shot. Aren’t they basically the same thing?
Learn about toxins, cleanses, etc.
I think a lot of people are overly concerned about toxins, and less concerned about moving around and eating decent food. I’ll admit I don’t put much stock in talk of “flushing out toxins” and various dietary “cleanses,” but this year I resolve to head on down to a local Whole Foods Market and take a class on toxins, cleanses, flushes, excretions, etc. I’m going directly to an “expert” source—will my mind be cleansed of its toxic misperceptions?
Write five posts a month.
We have a lot on our plate, but in order for this blog to be successful, I need to be a disciplined reader, writer, and thinker on issues related to herbs and becoming one with nature, etc. Who knows, maybe by December I’ll be wearing underwear made out of sustainably harvested bamboo shoots.
Sounds prickly, yet invigorating. I already feel closer to nature.
